Air India flight makes emergency landing in Mumbai as engine shuts down mid-air
ਨਵੀਂ ਦਿੱਲੀ, 20 ਮਈ – ਟਾਟਾ ਸਮੂਹ ਦੀ ਮਲਕੀਅਤ ਵਾਲੀ ਏਅਰ ਇੰਡੀਆ ਦਾ ਏ320 ਨਿਓ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਉਡਾਣ ਭਰਨ ਤੋਂ 27 ਮਿੰਟ ਬਾਅਦ ਹੀ ਮੁੰਬਈ ਹਵਾਈ ਅੱਡੇ ‘ਤੇ ਹੰਗਾਮੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਤਾਰਨਾ ਪਿਆ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਇਕ ਇੰਜਣ ਤਕਨੀਕੀ ਖਰਾਬੀ ਕਾਰਨ ਹਵਾ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਬੰਦ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਏਅਰ ਇੰਡੀਆ ਦੇ ਬੁਲਾਰੇ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਵੀਰਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਤਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਹੋਰ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੰਜ਼ਿਲ ਬੰਗਲੌਰ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਸੂਤਰਾਂ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ ਹਵਾਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਰੈਗੂਲੇਟਰ ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟੋਰੇਟ ਜਨਰਲ ਆਫ ਸਿਵਲ ਐਵੀਏਸ਼ਨ ਇਸ ਘਟਨਾ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
An A320neo plane of Tata Group-run Air India returned to the Mumbai airport just 27 minutes after take off as one of its engines shut down mid-air due to a technical issue, sources said on May 20.
Air India spokesperson said the passengers were flown to the destination Bengaluru after a change of aircraft on Thursday. Aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is conducting an investigation into this incident, sources said. The A320neo planes of Air India have CFM’s Leap engines on them.
The pilots of the A320neo plane received a warning about high exhaust gas temperatures on one of the engines just minutes after the aircraft’s departure from the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport at 9.43 a.m. With that engine being shut down, the pilot landed back at the Mumbai airport at 10.10 a.m., sources said.
